چکیده

1. Extract the object of interest from the input data. For an image as input data, this stage requires an image segmentation function and a procedure for selecting the segment (or object) of interest. 2. Prepares the data of the selected object for a comparison with the knowledge base of the system by extracting the objects characteristic features. 3. Knowledge base of the system which includes a search function for finding the best match to an input pattern from the 2nd stage. 4. The learning stage includes a feedback to the 3rd stage, the knowledge base, and possibly also to the 2nd stage for the characteristic-feature extraction. Car B Car A

Machine learning based Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) Signals Recognition

Introduction: Visual evoked potentials contain certain diagnostic information which have proved to be of importance in the visual systems functional integrity. Due to substantial decrease of amplitude in extra macular stimulation in commonly used pattern VEPs, differentiating normal and abnormal signals can prove to be quite an obstacle. Due to developments of use of machine l...

L-carnosine Improves Short-Term Spatial Recognition Memory and Passive Avoidance Learning and Memory in Streptozotocin-Diabetic Rats

Background and Objective: Diabetes mellitus (DM) affects synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus, leading to impairments in learning and memory. L-carnosine, an endogenous dipeptide, is reported to exhibit anti-diabetic and antioxidant effects. Therefore, this study was designed to evaluate its effect on learning and memory in diabetic rats. Materials and Methods: In the present study, male Wis...

Effect of Amnesia Mild Cognitive Impairment and Alzheimer’s Diseaseon Recognition Memory of Elderly Peoplein Shiraz Verbal Learning Test: Differences in Recognition Discriminability and Response Bias

Background: Most studies have investigated the effect of brain pathological aging on information recall and recognition memory performance of patients (by using a yes/no procedure), and for this reason, provide a partial picture of memory deficits and other factors involved in recognition memory such as discriminability and response bias are not considered. In this regard, the aim of present st...

Semantic Preserving Data Reduction using Artificial Immune Systems

Artificial Immune Systems (AIS) can be defined as soft computing systems inspired by immune system of vertebrates. Immune system is an adaptive pattern recognition system. AIS have been used in pattern recognition, machine learning, optimization and clustering. Feature reduction refers to the problem of selecting those input features that are most predictive of a given outcome; a problem encoun...
